We are continuing to have a busy, exciting time at Farmote Systems.
We had a productive and successful four days at the 2019 National Fieldays. This was an opportunity for us to have valuable one-on-one conversations with famers, to demonstrate the Motes and data from our pasture monitoring system, and to visually discuss our technology. The feedback was very positive which is encouraging for us.
It was inspiring to be amongst other young Agritech companies in the industry using cutting edge technology. Richard Barton – our founder and managing director – was invited to be part of a Callaghan Innovation Agritech Business Seminar, presented during the Fieldays. The seminar topic was ‘Sustainable farming practices: managing on-farm nutrients’.
This seminar was a great opportunity for Richard to talk about the environmental benefits of our Farmote System, and a chance to hear what other companies are doing in this area. With our system of pasture monitoring being able to provide specific, per paddock information, the farmer can target application of both fertiliser and irrigation – along with the timing – which will be of benefit to our environment. Our company stand was then part of a Callaghan Innovation ‘Innovation tour’ later that same day – a guided walking tour of a selected group of agritech companies involved in nutrient management.
The full recording of the seminar is on this link https://www.callaghaninnovation.govt.nz/see-you-fieldays-2019/seminars. Richard’s presentation is around the 4.05 minute mark.
